Annique Sampson

Annique Sampson, midwife and childbirth educatorAnnique Sampson, CPM, is a Certified Professional Midwife nationally certified by the North American Registry of Midwives. She has been supporting families in birth since 2003.

Her midwifery training included homebirths in New England, water births in free-standing birth centers in New Mexico and Florida, and a special volunteer opportunity serving low-income women in an out-of-hospital birth clinic in the Philippines. She has also worked as a labor support doula in several hospitals around the country.  Her role as midwife is to help guide families gently and act as safe guardian of the normal birth process.

Annique is strong advocate of evidence-based care and informed choice, providing information and support for couples as they navigate through the many choices in today’s maternity care.  She empowers expectant parents to make decisions that are best for them.

Annique believes birth is not just a physical event, but a profound rite of passage into parenthood. When a baby is born, parents are ‘born’ as well.  Her work as midwife is complimented by her extensive training in the Birthing From Within™ process.  Annique is an Advanced Birthing From Within™ mentor and has been teaching classes since 2005. Her classes are both informative and transformative, offering a dynamic learning environment where parents thrive.

Annique brings her full attention, experience as midwife and mother, and thoughtful guidance to each family. She lives on a small homestead in Putney, Vermont with her husband Thomas and son Samuel, who was born with midwives in 2008.
